I’ve just encountered something I’ve never seen before.

The clip in the browser is showing to be 1 frame long. However, when I go and look at the clip in the finder it is actually all there. 16;55;03, with matching TC.

When I bring the clip back into FCP it again shows up as 1 frame. I’ve even made the clip offline, and changed the clip settings to match the IN / OUT TC that is embedded in the QT. Same result on relinking. It defaults back to the 1 frame length, using the first frames TC 4;46;05;29.

    It has me baffled.

I’ve even tried creating a new project to import the clip into with the same results.

    The system specs:
    OS 10.5.5
    dual 3GHZ Quad Core Intel
    10 GB RAM
    FCP 6.0.5

All media is on an external Glyph GT062, that was not loaded by myself, an assistant editor was brought in to do all the capture.

    any thoughts?

    Try trashing your prefs.

    Have a wonderful day.

Funny thing, as I’m trying different ways to get this clip into FCP, the program crashed.

When it crashed the clip was still OFFLINE. When I reopened the project and was asked to relink the file, it relinked and was fine.

So perhaps it was preferences, and I’ll keep that one in my back pocket for future use.

    Thanks
    Chris
