  • Clip marker – shortcut for each color of marker

Posted by Veronique Barbe on January 11, 2016 at 11:50 pm

Did anyone find a way to assign a shortcut to each color of clip marker in Premiere CC 9.1 ? (like in Avid or Final cut)

By now, I have to change the color of the marker in the marker window each time I add a new one… a big waste of time.

NB : I know chapter markers have a different color but they are sequence markers, and I only want to use CLIP markers.

NB 2 : clip colors – I already use different clip colors so it wouldn’t be a solution to replace the markers.

    Hope there is a solution,
    Thanks !!

I share your pain. It doesn’t seem like it would be a hard thing to allow one to select a default color for markers, but then, I do remember when they were only one color.

Having shortcuts for each color of clip marker should be a basic thing to have.

    Cheers,

It may not be possible to have a single key to set say a “red” marker. But you can set a key to change the color after its been placed (pressing “M”)

I just found this out, you can go to the keyboard shortcuts and assign a quick key for “marker color #1”, “marker color #1”, etc. These correspond to the arrangement, left to right, of markers in the marker window. #1 is Green, #2 is Red, so on and so forth. Not exactly the trick, but hopefully it will speed up the process.
