May 5, 2005 at 7:25 pmIs there a tutorial on advanced capture? The clock in the camera has never been set until now but capture worked fine previous to this project. Should I just clean up what I have edited file it and just reinstall Vegas hoping for results?

May 5, 2005 at 8:59 pmIf the clock is NOT set, then “enable scene detection” CANNOT work. It’s that simple. If everything worked “fine til now” then the clock was set in the camera in which the tapes were recorded.
To use advanced capture, just type in the beginning and ending capture times and name the clip. Repeat this multiple times if you wish to capture multiple sections. I do have information related to this spelled out in one of the early issues of my newsletter (link below my name) where I talk about capturing.

May 5, 2005 at 10:04 pmSo scott, just to define your core issue, you don’t
get an error message but you can’t capture either?I’m still not sure what the core problem is that wasn’t
a problem before.I hope I never have this issue. But it looks like Edward
knows what it is. -

May 5, 2005 at 11:41 pmNo, I can capture footage but instead of individual takes downloading as clips the entire tape will load as one clip. The advance capture will have to be the way to go. I just went out and shot some more footage with the internal clock in the camera set and I am able to capture indivdual clips. It worked. Thanks everyone.

May 6, 2005 at 9:52 amSounds to me like your hard drive is full! Only 26% free on a 250gb hard drive? That’s getting dangerous. You need that much or more to defrag.

May 6, 2005 at 8:49 pmah so your scene detection was not working when enabled
because your camera time was not set?interesting.
I usually always do batch capturing through logging
the in/out timecodes manually to a batch capture file.you were able to do that right?
