  • Clip and sequence settings using multiple sources?

Working on a project that uses HD and SD sources. Is there a way to maximize clip and sequence settings to minimize the need to render various edits?

Not sure if this is related to clip and sequence settings, but as we get deeper into the project, rendering becomes more and more necessary.

    Thanks!

Get a faster computer ……. just kidding.

Are you editing an SD timeline or HD timeline? ?

If you are doing the SD Timeline I recommend you down convert your HD footage … it will take you a day or less to media-Manage and downconvert all of your HD footage … but well worth it in the end.

SD on HD timeline … honestly I haven’t felt the render times to be too long … but if you wanted. You could put all your SD footage on a 16:9 sequence and Export them to UPCONVERT HD … then put it back on your HD timeline … again about a day to do … but worth it.

    Good luck.

Thanks! Those solutions actually make sense.

We’re in the final couple hours of this project, so we’ll probably give this a try going into the next one.

But there was a definite trend of rendering becoming more and more necessary the longer we worked. Is that a clear sign of memory being consumed, or some other issue?

    Thanks again for the insights!
