  • Clicking on a tool shows other tools instead of selecting the tool

Sorry for the complicated subject, but that’s my problem in a nutshell. For most tools, I know the shortcuts, but for the ones I rarely use I have to click on them. When I do, instead of just selecting the tool as normal, it shows the other tools—like it’s supposed to do when you click and hold on the tool. This is extremely annoying because it does it for every tool, except the ones with only one tool, obviously. Has anyone else experienced this?

I’m running PSCS3E on an Octo-core Mac Pro running 10.5.5. I don’t remember if it did it in Tiger or not (we upgraded recently) but I know that there was a point when it didn’t do it on this machine. It might have coincided with the install of Leopard. Since then permissions have been repaired. I haven’t trashed prefs, but I don’t want to if it can be avoided.
