cleaning up text subtitles for enoce(and after effects)
Hello,
A company send us some subtitles .txt files.
We are planning to use this with adobe encore.
We also using some of the subtiles in After Effects(with a script) where we need to integrate it in a specific lay out/animation.As we understood, encore and the script can import those files
when files look like this:3 00:00:45:01 00:00:49:22 Nous avons dû donner
tout ce que nous avions avec nous.However the ones we got look like this:
00:00:45:01 00:00:49:22
Nous avons dû donner
tout ce que nous avions avec nous.Some of the videos are 3 min long, but others almost an hour.
So we need to put a NR before every timecode(see example: 3), remove a tab between each timecode, remove an enter and add a space.
Its obvious we need a text editor.
What editor program could we use to achieve(accetly) this?

I like Notepad++
I do not see it in the web page, which is wrapping and changing what you posted, but you seem to say it is a tab instead of a space?
In any event, Notepad++ will show such characters. Select the tab (for example – this will put it into the “find” blank), Ctrl-H (for replace), and then specify in the “replace with” a space.
However, the line break in the subtitle itself may be intentional.
