Cleaning up an Video Clip in AfterEffects

Not really. It will be easier and cheaper in the long run to reshoot your scenes using proper lens protection.
However, if you have the money, you can pay someone to attempt to clean up your footage. You must cull your footage very carefully, though. You want to invest in cleaning up only that which you will use. So don’t invest in an After Effects artist’s work until your film is almost finished.

this work will be tedious, exacting, and tremendously difficult. That means it will be expensive.

Hi,

As our good old friend Bogiesan already mentioned, reshooting the scene would be the best.
But do you really want to get rid of the dirt? Sometimes incidents like the one you had in your subjective shot can make your scene look more realistic.

Just my 0.2 cents.

Thanks both of you for your help! I’m just doing the editing and unfortunately they don’t have any more cash to re shoot the scenes.

I’ve tried editing it together, but it really does look like crap. There are times I would love to smack the directors who say, “don’t worry about it, we’ll fix it in post!”
