    Hi everyone,
I don’t touch AE much, as I’m usually more on the editing side of things (usually FCP 7/X) I am working on a project using 8mm and 16mm archival footage. I’d like to clean up the scratches/etc. Any particular AE or FCP plugin/method the community would suggest?

Take a look at this software, it isn’t cheap:

If you want to eliminate scratches in AE you will need to use the clone tool to paint them out. It will be a very time consuming process. I personally think it gives old film a cool look.

Revival is terrible and Blackmagic is probably killing it soon. I wouldn’t put any money on it. PFclean is good but still expensive, you can get a 30 day fully functioning trial of it though. Digital Vision Phoenix is also an option but they don’t even have a price up on the website so…

Hmm. Seems like the PFClean website is down (hopefully not bone.) It’s weird: It seems like everyone stopped developing these program several years ago. Seems like there should be a program/plugin that would allow you to clean up a frame of a scene manually, then tell it to process the rest to look like that.

Any other options, or anyone know another place to find PFClean trial?

Dust and scratches aren’t in same spots in different frames.
