I recently got a small amount of sand on my Panasonic HVX and it managed to creep into my focus ring. I have tried everything I can to get it out with canned air and particle brushes but I still feel it grinding in there…
Does anyone know if it is possible to remove the focus ring in order to get inside and clean it out? Additionally, does anyone know of a person who could perform the service for me at a reasonable cost? It would be much appreciated…Thank-you!

Don’t try to do this yourself. If you pop apart the lens you will likely kiss your warrenty good bye. Contact Andrew Hoffman at Specialized Communications (www.spec-comm.com).

If you have found sand, then I would bet there is sand you have not found yet. I would get this thoroughly cleaned.
