  • Clean HD-SDI output from Varicam AJ-HDC27

    I’m hearing a rumour that the original Varicam: AJ-HDC27 can’t output a clean signal from its HD-SDI port. I’m a bit shocked, can anyone confirm this is actually true?

    The Varicam can indeed output a clean signal. There is a switch under the audio/timecode door for Characters on/off which controls the nomenclature super on the main feed, which btw is full 10-bit 422.

    Thanks for your reply! This is on the earlier models too like models that are pre H (Is that just the F or was there a model before the F?)

    On this page it seems to suggest the clean feed was new on the H model?:

    All models F and H have the switch and the clean feed!
