Hello, i’ve used Claude Bonet many times with good success. However, this one character tonight simply will not paint. I’ve opened other characters where the heirarchy is exactly the same -> the meshes are inside a null inside a hypernurb – the bones themselves are a child of the same hypernurb…select a bone and paint away (usually) – I can do it to other models with the exact same heirarchy and composed of several meshes – but not this one!

What could this be? I’ve tried many variations over the pass few hours – including putting the bones in as a child of the mesh – I’m using smartbones and absolute vertex maps – and i’ve tried it without and several other variations….it just won’t paint! The mesh goes grey but no painting. I’m using v.9.6…..

    Anyhelp would be appreciated

thank you- if you read this post ihave what could be valuable information for you. Thanks to dataflow and ScottA for information there is a bug in Claude Bonet.

For example in the model we deleted all bones and joined the mesh and built just two bones just to see if under the most reduced circumstances we could paint anything. It would not paint this model yet it would paint others with the same hierarchy and attributes.

Dataflow and ScottA suggested to copy the file and paste it in another scene. This worked! with the original model we could not paint. Clearly this is a bug that sometimes happens with Claude Bonet.

We use v.9.6 under OS X although this bug reportedly also effects Windows.
