I have painstakingly converted a cityscape into a vector drawing creating each window and light source. It basically is a black silhouette of buildings with the lights in the windows I wanted on. Is there an easier way then making sub-composition after sub-composition for each building to have the lights come on randomly in each building?
If I were to break apart the shapes in the illustrator file into layers I would have hundreds of little squares that I could not possibly keep track of in AE. Right now all I can think of is group my lights to a building. Make a separate file for just that building and break the shapes into layers and use those files as sub compositions.
I can see the solids folder now being this endless scrolling list.
    Any ideas?
