    Hi,
i need help to recreate circles of confusion like that seen on this spot:

    https://www.trapcode.com/gallery/polar2007_h.mov

I have Image Lounge-TrueCamera Blur plugin, (i tried Lenscare also) but i can’t recreate this effect, expecially the little dots around the girl’s eye.
The thing is i get bigger dots all of the same size, not so real, moreover the image is too defocused.
Re-creating the look, I’m very near with rain using Custom Particle and turning Camera upside-down, but still far in wet nuances and refractions.
Pierre Michel has done a great job, impressive rain, wet & liquid so real, great!
If all is done in After Effects and Trapcode, should win five cow-stars.

I’m not really sure, but in the parts where there is some noticable DOF artifacts, it largely looks like it’s an in-camera effect. Anyway, to solve your problem you might try to apply the DOF effect to a layer with Fractal Noise which you overlay over the footage using Add or Screen mode. This should give you a much lesss uniform result. I can also recommend using Frischluft’s Lenscare plugin, which provides built-in controls for Highlight filtering.

    Hi Mylenium,

thats the way…much better thanks, anyway it look likes as a dirty lens, much more natural DOF, but static.
i mean dots do not follow the skin movements. i masked parts that must stay clear, it’s ok.
but how to warp the fractal noise, as it would follow the skin movements in the footage?
Maybe i’m ask the impossible but necessary to achieve a realistic efffects.

    Thanks in advance.

If you need to imitate the motion, animate the Fractal Noise’s position along Y, then apply a mesh warp effect after it. Using some simple adjustments, you should be able to make the Noise follow the contours of a face or whatever.
