I need to replace an old version of the apple cinema display (circa 2002) with a new monitor as my current version has stopped turning on or getting power.

I’ve been reading up on the current cinema displays and heard a lot of complaints and a lot fo people saying theyb aren’t worth the money.

I’ve been hearing good things about the Dell monitors (cheaper, same quality) but I worry about compatibility.

If anyone has any experience with these monitors and can give me some advice on which way to go, I would appreciate it.

    Thanks.

You don’t need to worry about the compatibility as long as you have a DVI to VGA cable.
I haven’t heard many complaints about the Apple Cinema?? I do remember people commenting that the Cinema’s price was a little high, but that was before Apple lowered them to $899.
Personally, I prefer the Cinemas over the Dells. We have a graphic dept., photo dept., and video- and we’ve all switched over to Apple Cinemas over any over monitor.
But really, for video, you’ll be happy with either.
As a side note, Dell is getting out of the monitor making business.
