I was working on a project that I rendered from C4D to AE. It’s been great all along, but due to disk space, I moved the files to another drive.

After opening the project again in After Effects, it was totally grainy and noisy. It seems I’m not getting enough color info into the file — but I didn’t change anything that I know of.

I am following a Lynda.com tutorial where the instructor says to make the Working Space in AE sRGB and to check the Linearize box. I’ve played with those settings but it only gets worse with the floor looking like it has a ‘cartoon’ filter. It kills the entire realism of the animation.

So far 8 bit, sRGB, Linearize, Compensate for Scene-referred Profiles

    I am stumped. Please help!

You should save to 16 bit or higher if you want to use linear workflow with multipass renders.
