I have a new Canon HF10 and I’m about to start my first editing project which will be our family vacation video. Since I am new to AVCHD and HD editing, I am looking at both CineForm with HDLink and AVCHD UpShift to use with Vegas8. If I understand it correctly, CineForm will convert AVCHD to it’s proprietary Intermediate, while Upshift will convert AVCHD to MPEG2. Can someone offer me some insights regarding the advantages and disadvantages of these products? Will I lose quality with the conversions? Is one of these products enough, or is there an advantage to owing both? I plan to output to Blu-ray. Thanks.
