I am looking for an affordable transcoder, for my AVCHD material, that is up to par with Cineform. Is there anything out there for PC/XPSP3/Premier pro CS4? I need to see if my Cineform clips are the root of my problem.

Backstory. I was using Cineform’s NeoScene but I’ve been having audio issues lately. My first several projects I had no problem. I was really happy with the everything. Now I’m getting the snap-crackle-pops with my audio and It’s driving me crazy. I’ve made sure all my audio sampling rates are the same for SFX, Digital Juice wipes, etc. The sequence, I believe, has matching settings, etc. The problem still persists even when I have only just the newly transcoded clip in the timeline.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks,
    Dave

Do you see the pops in the waveforms themselves or could this be an issue with your audio subsystem?

    Hey Alex,

I don’t see the pops in the waveforms. I tried filtering them out with no success. The Cineform clips play fine in Vegas 9 and Windows Media player however.

    Thanks,
    Dave

Did you check the audio level meters? you may be going into the red and clipping, open the mixer and try reducing the volume
