    Hi,
I have embeds of my cow hosted videos on my website. A few days ago, i noticed i couldn’t view them in Chrome (lastest version). With the exception of an intial spilt second image of the video player still, the videos players would remain black and the page would never fully load. (icluding player controls) https://boxoutsidemedia.com/our-work

I didn’t think too much of it, thought it might be the computer, and i just continued with another browser.

Today i got new laptop, installed chrome…SAME PROBLEM. (clean, nothing installed at all except chrome!!)

So i went to all my computers
Chrome doesn’t work on any of them.
I live in China, thought the red dragon might be hindering a google product, so i used my VPN and chrome still can’t access the embedded videos.
Did a hard refesh, nothing. Used chrome’s incognito feature, nothing

I thought it might be my network connections, but the problem is repeatable on wifi/wired/ 3g hotspot all with and without VPN

Then i went directly to Cow’s video page, and chrome won’t even begin to load it.
    https://reels.creativecow.net/
    Nor https://forums.creativecow.net/cowvideos
    My profile page will load
    https://my.creativecow.net/mike-calla/videos
but not the little pics of the videos.

WORKING TESTED BROWSERS (tested on 5 different desktops/laptops w/32bit xp pro 32bit win 7 ultimate, android 2.3/4.1 and where possible on wifi, wired, 3g all with and without vpn)
firefox v4,v5,v3, and the lastest version works
    ie v6 v8 v9 works
    opera latest version works
    chrome on android 4.1 works
    dolphin on android 2.3 works
    ios 5/6 on iphone 4s, ipad 2/3

CHROME NOT WORKING ON ANY CONFIGURATION!!

Can someone USING CHROME just quickly hop to my site’s video page
    https://boxoutsidemedia.com/our-work

OR you don’t feel comfortable just hop to
    https://reels.creativecow.net/
    or
    https://forums.creativecow.net/cowvideos
    or My profile page
    https://my.creativecow.net/mike-calla/videos
    and tell me I’m crazy

    thanks!!

    Not working in:
    – Cr 21.0.1180.89 m
    – Cr 22.0.1229.79 m
    – Cr 23.0.1271.6 dev-m

Chrome Developer Tools’ Java Console reports this:

“Unsafe JavaScript attempt to access frame with URL https://boxoutsidemedia.com/our-work from frame with URL https://reels.creativecow.net/e/17396. Domains, protocols and ports must match.”

    Hello Alex,

Thank you for reporting what you are experiencing with Chrome. Is it possible that you need to update your Flash player? I tried both a Windows, and Mac version of Chrome, and they both worked fine.

    Awesome, thanks Alex!!

I really don’t have any knowledge of web programming, i built that site with basekit.

    2 things though
    – I did change the embed code to omit the titles that are displayed below the player…or rather, i just omitted the text that contained the titles from the embed code

    – and a few days ago, through the cow’s video update interface, i changed the still image in a few of the videos

However googling this error leads to believe that either of things may be the problem.

Still i don’t see how this would affect me viewing the pages directly on the cow site?

Anyways thanks for pointing me in…a direction:) I’ll change back all the embed codes to the originals and see how that goes.

and i did try and update flash, but its built in to chrome, cant. and my one day old laptop, both flash and chrome are the lastet version

    thanks guys!

    Hi Abraham,

Like Mike said, Chrome’s Flash runtime is something they (Chrome dev team) update themselves; 11.3 and 11.4 are Flash versions in Cr 21-23; the issue seems to be the the Java code though?

Actually the Javascript call is unrelated and doesn’t affect the playability.

The problem appears to be the number of video embeds you have on the page. Because of the amount of content that each video player loads when there are eight video players to load simultaneously, it is causing the Chrome Browser to not load the page properly.

Why the lock up happens in Chrome, and not the other browsers is beyond me. You might try using this jQuery appear (https://code.google.com/p/jquery-appear/) plugin to only load the videos which are on the screen, that should fix the problem.

YouTube, and other video services have similar issues, when more video embeds are loaded simultaneously it creates a bottleneck, and Chrome just happens to handle it the worst.

    Hi Guys,

Abraham, forgive my lack of know how but does the code you linked to insert in to the embed code OR the page code (if its the page code then i’m outta luck as i built this site with Basekit’s WYSIWYG builder)

Again i appreciate the help guys.

I’m currently updating this page with the most recent embed codes.
If it doesn’t help the issue, hmmm i guess i can redesign the page using still images of players, when a user clicks on the still it opens a new but identical page with a live player???

    Hello Mike,

Your latter solution should work for you.
