  • Chroma Key rendering on Sony Vegas

    Hi guys

Can anyone help me? I have done this before and it has worked but for some reason i cant get it to work again.

Basically i am using Sony Vegas 11 and i have used a green screen to shoot some footage, Now i want to make the video have a transparent background so when i put it onto Articulate storyline you can see the background of my project

I have used the chroma key in FX and used the eyedropper etc. When i render i have done it as, AVI NTSC DV, Uncompressed, changed it to progressive scan and ticked the alpha channel and create an open DML and when putting it onto my storyline project it has a black background. Is there something obvious i am not doing correctly? I have checked on Vegas it is transparent firstly and put another video underneath to check before trying to render.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

    Many thanks

    Jenny

You need to render it out as a Quicktime file using the
PNG or the Animation codec (Video format). This will
    preserve your Alpha Channel.

    Thank you Steve

it turns out it was Captivate and not my rendering after a heated discussion with the UK team.

    Thank you for your help!
