First of all, I’m very new to FCP. I’m running version 6.

I’m working on my very first Chroma Key project. Everything is working great but when I hung up my green paper, I used masking tape. When I key out the green, obviously the white masking tape at the top of the frame still shows.

I believe that there is a method of cropping/cloning out the top of the screen and replacing it with pure green…effectively covering up the masking tape. Sort of like the “Clone Stamp” tool in Photoshop.

Anyway, I’m having trouble finding how to do this. Can anyone point me in the right direction? If I haven’t provided enough info, please let me know.

    Thanks.

    Don’t worry about the tape.
Make the CK, and get rid of the tape afterward.
You can crop or use a Garbage matte.

Perfect! Garbage Matte was exactly what I was after. Learned something today. Thanks.
