Chroma key
Hi I am trying to use green screen for the first time. I am applying filters in FCP. I have applied the chroma key filter, feather, matte choker etc. etc. The result looks good well quite good but the video now needs to be rendered. When I render I get huge pink glows and all sorts of disgusting effect surrounding and over my foreground talent. Any suggestions please or different software to achieve a good effect? thanks,

How bout a little more info. What’s your footage shot on? What codec are you using?
If your subject isn’t moving around to too much. The first thing I would do is put a garbage matte around it so I can tweak my key for a much smaller area. That may help you out.

Enlighten us first, what format were you shooting, which of the many chromakeyers in the studio are you using and what codec are you rendering to?

The “pink glow” may be from turning up the magenta spill killer/mate choker setting too high.

So you want to tanscode that to something non-GOP first?
Szusko’s probably correct about the spill suppressor.You can research chromakey here and on the Net for many hours. it’s all been done and it’s all been fixed. Most fixes involve applying multiple keyers or masking to multiple stacked copies fo the same layer.
