I have painted a back wall with green screen paint. When I
go to select the green with (Boris Chroma Key) the eye dropper
it comes up red on the color bar. I will use the drop down to choose
a green color that will give me my background. The problem is I notice today that my boss was moving his hand around and I saw some
green bleed through on his hands. I don’t know what I did wrong.
This is the first week this has happen. I have a new background would this be the problem. Thanks Patti

That doesn’t seem right at all. You definitely want to use the eye dropper. Disable the plug-in first, then use the eye dropper to select a green that is close to your subject, then enable the plug-in. This way the plug-in is not affecting the color when you select it.

Did you fine tune the mask by displaying the mask only and make sure that it is black and white with no shades of grey? You can also use the matte choker to shrink the ask to avoid any green on the edges.

I’ve demo’d the Boris keyer and it does a good job. Lighting is everything when it comes to chromakeying. Two of the best keyers are Keylight and Ultrakey, found in Adobe bundles. Come on Sony, give us a good Keyer!!

I did turn off the key then used the eye drop. I didn’t select
near the man. It showed red. When I use the drop down and pick
green it got rid of the green. Vegas doesn’t give that drop down
    color pic. Boris does.
I’ll try the mat choke. Never have used that will try. Don’t they have a book that tells all of this. I really like this program
(BCC)there is so much to learn. Someone once said you can only eat an elephant one bite at a time. This is really a big elephant.
    Thanks for the information.

Each plug-in has a help button that brings up the PDF for just that plug-in. I would start there. Actually, it’s next on my list for the next Boris TV episode. I’ve just been slammed with getting ready for NAB so I haven’t had time to record it. (soon though)

What irony. I blew my NAB budget on BCC.
I’ll see you there next year, though.
