    Hey guys,

I’m pretty new still at cinema and i’m having a difficult time wrapping my brain around this request. We have a client who wants to do a spot where we animate christmas lights similar to these https://www.adf.org.au/images/Christmas_Lights.jpg However I’m not too sure on how to set it up in cinema. I have mograph and thought maybe that would be the solution. I’m just not too sure what step to take in making the lights attached to a spline wrap. Or maybe there is a better way of doing this. Right now I have a cylinder following a spline and lights set up as a child… I want to do it with the cloner object but I cannot get it to work.

So basically I just want a chain of christmas lights that i can animate and make it wrap around things and turn into different shapes.

I know this isn’t too detailed but I’m kind of a newb and I have been searching around looking for stuff and can’t seem to find anything… thx for the help in advance.

You could clone the lights onto a spline. To do that, set the cloner to object mode and drag the spline into resulting object box. Use the same spline in a sweep nurbs to create the wire. Then you can use deformers on the spline, or animate the points as you see fit.
