    Hey there,

I’m working with a Sony Betacam SP UVW 1800 connected thru an AJA Io box using AJA VTR Xchange for capture. On Monday we had a lightning strike that knocked out power and now when I try either playback or capture I’m getting lots of dropped frames (4000+ for a 2 minute sample capture).

I’ve tried powering everything down and restarting and capturing thru FCP’s Log and Capture. No joy.

Watching the playback routed straight to a monitor I see a very slight repeating fuzziness but otherwise the playback is fine.

This was working fine 3 days ago and now my capture is useless.

    Any help?

It’s kind of a weird situation!! I’d give AJA tech support a call — if you fried your IO, they can offer you a reconditioned one (my IO-HD started misbehaving and they sent a factory re-freshed one to me overnight)
    — good luck!!

Well the problem got solved… By unplugging and re-plugging a cable into 1 of our studio camera blackburst boxes. Odd.
