Chop single HD capture into separate files

    Hi,

I just dumped some footage from a Canon XHA-1 camera. Apparently Premier CS3 can’t do scene detect on HD, so I’ve ended up with a large 11.8GB file capture of tape 1.

I’d like to get all the scene cut out of this file into separate files.

I’ve cut all the scenes in the file with the razor tool. I just need the files now.

I’ve tried a couple different methods, but I’m wondering if there is an easier way.

The file is an Mpeg2 capture (done via premier), 1440×1080 size, 23.976fps. I’ve also named every clip to the clapboard scene designation (scene/take/etc)

    File –> Export –> Movie
    – Limited Codecs – if I do uncompressed AVI a 60 frame section is just under 300MB!
    – I need to name every file when I do the export .. a pain . but can be done.

File –> Export — Adobe Media Encoder
    – Only the Blu-Ray DVD setting appears to give good results in quality, but it produces a separate video/audio file.
    – Other codecs won’t allow the 1440×1080 frame size
    – most codecs don’t work with Multiplexing the audio.

I’d would prefer the 1 file for audio/video for each clip and ideally a way to batch process it.

Any suggestions? I have 5 more tapes to do.
