  • chop part of screen?

Forgive the crudeness of my subject line. I haven’t learned the FCP language yet. I have a short music video in which I’m happy with the look of it, but my subject is a little off center.

Is it possible to just “crop” the left part of the sequence… or would that screw the aspect all up? (I assume I would lose some of the top and bottom when it was scaled to fit after cropping it).

Thanks so much for this service.

You can try it and see how it looks.

Since you are “zooming IN” on the shot, you won’t even need to “crop” it, as the other areas at the edge of the frame will simply move off-screen.
So just size/scale up the shot, re-position it and see what you think.

It will degrade the image, that’s a given.
‘How much’ is the only consideration.

Another choice is to put some kind of decorative “box” around the outside of the frame and just MOVE your off-center shot(s) and not “zoom in” on them at all.
