Chicago Motion Graphics Festival 2006

The 2006 edition of the Chicago Motion Graphics Festival will consist of an intimate tour of the world of motion graphics. It will occur over four days in JANUARY 2006 with include both a screening and conference program. The festival will again feature works of international design excellence and entries will be screened in a gallery-style format at select post-houses around Chicago.
CMGF will screen work that includes: special effects, compositing, music videos, commercials, experimental, machinima, animatics, web and micro-cinema. The festival accepts entries from all over the world, but will emphasize work from the Midwest.
The DEADLINE for entry is 1 December 2005.
To submit a motion picture for consideration, please enclose a print out of the application form (www.mgchicago.com/festival/06/entry.pdf), a check for the $15 entry fee made payable to Design After Next, LLC, a Region 1 compatible DVD, and mail to:

Entries chosen to screen in the festival will be requested in a higher resolution format such as digital files, miniDV, or beta SP.Entries may also include:
(1) A brief artist or company bio.
(2) A list of the software used to create the work,
(3) An indication of the content’s original format (i.e. computer animation, live action footage, hand-drawing, stills, etc.),
(4) A description of the work of 35 words or fewer, and
(5) A separate description of not more than 100 words.Please send an email with your name and the name of your project to fi******@*******go.com when you have mailed your submission, and we will notify you when your entry has been received.
Entry Fee is $15.00 per person or company.
Each person or company can include as many pieces, works, or movies in their entry as will fit on their entry DVD.Please Note: All submission become the property of Design After Next, LLC to be used at their discretion. All relevant permissions and copyrights are assumed to be cleared by the entrant.

it’s the same licence that Promax and RES fest have. We had been a non-profit organization, but the paperwork was limiting. We intend to continue with the same motivation of providing new outlets for creativity. If you want to be included as a presentation artist only and not be included in the festival DVD, then just indicate that on your submission. Does that help clarify a bit?

Please Note: Submissions to the festival are assumed to have all permissions and copyrights cleared by the entrant. Artists keep ownership of the work, but grant Design After Next, LLC full and unlimited rights to international screening, distribution, and sales of the submission.
