Cheapest multi-camera live capture
I have 3 HD panasonic HMC-150 cameras and an Apple iMac with FCP on it. I need the cheapest way to do a 3-camera live capture for an event. I just need it to capture in FCP for a quick and easy export.

If you are live capturing you need a system for each camera. FCP is not the best thing for live capture but if you are also recording to media you at lest have a backup. Go camera FW out to computer, FCP capture, Non-contollable device and Capture Now. You need a reference clap or flash to quickly sync the camera to one another. -
What do you know about the AJA IO HD? Would that be worth it?

You would need three of them…one for each camera. And then still a computer for each system. It is a capture device that will convert your footage to ProRes for capture into FCP.
How about renting three KiPro units (made by AJA)…or KiPro Minis. They capture direct to ProRes internally to a drive. Then copy the footage to a computer…begin editing.
