Hi all, The effect I am struggling with is – I have some incense smoke footage on a transparent background and I want to transform the entire layer to match a shape i.e. a bird. I don’t want to lie it behind the bird (masked) I want the entire clip of smoke to become the bird – hope that makes sense. I have tried warping without any luck. I have looked absolutely everywhere on the internet for some inspiration again without any luck. Not too sure if I would be better of trying this is premiere pro – maybe? I don’t know. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Mesh warp can help and so can the Puppet Tool in AE. My guess is that you may want to combine a few instances of that smoke to help you fit the shape. Also, combining with a particles system like particular can help.

    I agree with Ted.
In addition you may also have to try the reshape plugin [ kinda slow on cs4 ]
Plus the Liquify may work for a finishing touch.
