I swear I saw the answer to this somewhere on this forum but I must be plugging in the wrong search terms. I am working with a pre-built project that has a date/time layer of text that I need to change for several versions. Problem is that there are several layers of the same text each with slightly different effects and timings.

Is there a way that I can link all the layers of text to one master layer where I only need to update and position once and all the other layers update automatically keeping their individual effects alone?

    thanx

Well this is a little confusing. but i think i understand what you are doing. If you are trying to make it so all the Text layers have the same characters then this is really easy. Open all of your text/ source Text panels for all your text layers. Pick a master… i usally make the top one the master. Then just alt+click the stop watch to the NON-Master layers and pick-wip then to the master. so now the expression tells the layer to look to the master layer for what characters to display. so now you only have to change 1 layers text info and it will echo out to all the remaining layers. Hope this is what you were trying to do.
