Changing Hair Color From Black to a Lighter Color?

This is just an idea… i really dont know that much about this… but you could try messing around with keylight and matting around the hair area… just an idea.

Probably going to hand roto the hair with an adjustment layer, then using a combination of color correction tools like Hue and Sat with some curves may do the trick. However Black hair would be most difficult since there isn’t much data in the dark areas of video so lightening and coloring may look unnatural.

if your going to do it frame by frame, check out the colour replacement tool in Photoshop CS1 and CS2. ive used it on hair before, but like andrew said, black is black.. and there isnt alot of luma range like you would get in blonde hair.
