What can you do if you’d like to take an existing texture map in one of the shape libraries and make a few changes to it in Photoshop?

I could screen capture the texture from the shape selector with alpha turned off, but that would only give a texture without an alpha channel.

    Thanks,

There’s a button to export the shape on the “change shape” page. Looks like a floppy disk.

I’m not sure where you’re seeing this floppy disk button. Perhaps you could point it out on this screen cap of the Change Shape page.

That’s one of the tiny features missing from SE, exporting shapes.

But if its a greyscale shape that you want to change, don’t worry about exporting the alpha channel. Most of them don’t have one, they just have black made transparent on import into pI. Just make sure that Shape Type is set to greyscale and that you choose Color and black as your Transparency options when you’re at the Particle Shape Import Options window.
