  • Changing comp (with position keyframes) size to match “new footage” size

Posted by Cory Christman on August 30, 2012 at 12:10 pm

Help, I spent two days doing some work and now I have been told that the 2K footage I used has been converted to another codex (for colour correction purposes) and the size has also changed (1080 instead of 2K). Can I modify the project somehow and keep the relative positions of all the motion tracks and masks and still make it work with the HD footage or do I have to start from the beginning again.

    Cheers,
    Cory

Can you not just drag the whole composition on to a new composition at the new size of 1080 – then scale it down to fit?

It’s not ideal way of working but at least everything should match exact and you can then keep working on the 2k version.

    3 ways to do this.

    1. Precompose master comp into new comp at desired size.
    2. File/scripts/scale composition
    3. Change comp to desired size. Make a null and parent all layers to it. Resize down to new size.
