OK, I’ve got a simple b-spline that I’m filling with the light streak, and I can find every parameter but one to time the rate at which the light streak animates along the path (I’m trying to slow it down). I’ve tried extending the duration of the shape on the timeline, but regardless, the animation plays out at the same rate. I’ve looked in the keyframe editor, thinking I could add a hold frame, but figure that out either. I’ve tried recording as I add the points on the spline at the timeline intervals I want them to appear at, but that’s not it. Plowed through TFM, and I just seem to be missing it. My guess is that perhaps I’m constructing this the wrong way. Bearing in mind I’m a motion newb, help appreciated.

OK, a trip to the apple forums provided the answer, figured I’d post here for future searchers.

The trick is to clone the group, and the cloned group will have a Speed retiming parameter.
