changing a color to white
Hi. Newbie here with color correction question. How do I change a color to white using the color corrector (or 3-way color corrector)? I’ve read about and played with the Limit Effect controls, but the Hue Control — the thing that lets you specify the color you want to change TO — doesn’t include “white” as an option. How do I change, say, a red area to white? I’m working with a piece of art that has very few colors in it — not an actual video clip — so it seems it should be easy to make a change like this, but I just can’t figure it out. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!!!! — RumiGirl

The problem is that white isn’t a color, it’s a luma value. You could take the saturation down to nothing and then push up the luma values so it blows out to white. For a still image I would honestly do this in Photoshop for much greater control and precision where you can paint in a mask very exactly.
