I don’t know what I did, but I changed some setting and my canvas became all blurry… I’m aware that sometimes my zoom (or some setting) changes to 99% and that messes things up. This time, the area behind my video itself is black… usually the canvas is grey, other than my video, so I can tell that I changed some type of background or vid size.

It’s amazing how badly a single key stroke can mess things up sometimes.

I”m not clear on what you’re seeing, but if you trash your preferences, I’ll bet the problem goes away.

Hey Jerry… sorry for taking so long to respond.

I was in the middle of editing in the viewer, placing in and out points, and I hit either the number 8 or 9… maybe 0. This caused my canvas to be blurry and terrible looking. Again, the grey that surrounds the video turned to black. I went to this website to find out how to trash the prefs… now that I’ve trashed the prefs and other stuff that they reccomeded, I get a message that FCP can’t detect my firewire or something like that. Here’s the site:

    https://support.apple.com/kb/TS1846

I pulled everything out of the trash and its still messed up.

I posted a pic of the problematic canvas and also a pic of a normal looking canvas on another sequence.

Please let me know what you think.
