Change in Gamma from Exporting
I’ve noticed that whenever I export from Final Cut, Compressor, or export using QuickTime Conversion, Gamma is always added to the footage. I’ve played around with the exporting settings and filters and I couldn’t find anything that got rid of it. When I export a QuickTime movie straight from Final Cut, there is no problem, but it’s whenever I convert or compress footage that something goes wrong.
I know that my monitor isn’t the problem, because when I compare the two movies side-by-side, I still see the difference.
My usual export setting from Compressor is H.264. I’ve looked all over Google for an answer to the gamma shift problem, but, even though I’ve found similar threads to this one, there has never been a real answer.
If anybody knows what I’m doing wrong, please help. And if this doesn’t happen to you, would you mind walking through the steps of your export so I can see if I’m making a mistake somewhere?
Thanks,
