Change Frame Rate
Hi everyone!
I’m trying to create a slow-motion sequence and am having a bit of trouble.
I shot the sequence at 50FPS, in order to render it at 25FPS, and thereby create a smooth slow-motion. But what happens is that I import the footage, put it into a composition set at 25FPS, and then instead of the video being played twice as slow (i.e. lasting 20 seconds instead of 10), After Effects just renders it at the same speed but moving at 25FPS.Can anyone tell me what I’m supposed to do to achieve this?

Hi, this is the expected behaviour. Your footage plays back at the original framerate, regardless of the composition framerate.
The most straightforward way to play back frame-for-frame is to re-interpret your material as 25fps.
Rightclick the source footage in the project window and click ‘Interpret Footage’, then set framerate to 25fps.
The same result can be achieved by selecting the layer in the comp and go to the menu Layer > Time Stretch and set to 200%.
