  • Change Direction/Gravity of Flame Line Particle Emitter

I have a project with several different pyro emitters going at different times. I shot the footage sideways since I will be displaying the project on an LCD TV sitting on its side. My problem is that the “Flame Line” particle emitter’s flames continue to ‘lick’ toward the top of the screen no matter which way I rotate the layer. As I work on the project, I want the flames to lick to the left instead of the top of the screen. I haven’t had trouble with Campfire doing this.

What can I do differently to get ‘Flame Line’ to lick to the left side of the screen instead of the top?

That’s because that emitter uses the Gravity simulation behavior to animate the direction of the particles (negative gravity to make them go up).

Deactivate the Gravity behavior and instead select the Emitter and increase the Speed amount (after rotating the emitter or the layer containing the emitter by 90 degrees. You may need negative speed depending on the direction of your rotation.

I’ll try that. I had unchecked Gravity and played with the speed on the actual emitter but hadn’t tried them at the same time. Thanks for the reply!
