I deleted the texture you had on your cloner, created a texture with a multi-shader in it, gave it 6 colors, set it to index and applied it to just the body and it worked fine….

One more thing…you don’t need the shader effector or the 2nd random effector. Just use the random effector you called “color effector” and on the Effector tab, set the Random Mode to “Sorted” Then all the colors show.

    Hi Tim,

I tried what you mentioned, and it’s not working. I’m obviously doing something wrong. Anyway you could share a step by step, just starting from scratch, instructions…. like starting with the iPod model as a child of the Cloner Object…..then create the multishader…. then… what?

    thanks for your time

    Hey Tim –

What version of C4D are you using? the SORT option is only available in 11.5

    Sorry, I forgot to ask…

I’m using 11.5…. however, it is a demo version. But it is (supposedly) operating in full version mode for another 10 days.

    Hey Tim –

So the way to do it prior to 11.5 was a little different, but I put together this little tutorial showing how to do it in 11.5

I left the multi shader as color brightness and it seemed to work.

Let me know if you get it to work…

    tim,
thanks so much for the tutorial. It worked. At first it didn’t, but after deleting the old multishader texture and reapplying, it did work. Looking good.

thanks again for all your time…

    Hey Tim –

My pleasure. I’m glad it worked. Hopefully this will help others if they run into the same problem.

    Take care.

    Tim
