  • Change color of grid dependent on camera distance to another 3D Layer

    Hey guys,

    i have the following situation:

    – 1 camera
    – 1 Floor (3D Layer with Grid Effect)
    – different 3D Layers which move towards and behind the camera

Those layers are controlled by Dan Ebberts’s expression “Follow the Null”.

What i want to do is to change the color of the grid on the floor to a specific color when one of the 3D Layers reaches a specific distance to the camera.
Then, when the next layer reaches this position the color should change again so that when the layer gets into the focus of the camera the grid matches the main color of that layer.
The important thing is that when the color changes it should fade from one color into another and not change it abrupt.

    Any suggestion would be helpful.
    Thanks.

    Ben
