CC in Vegas 11 question
I’m experimenting with Closed Captioning in Vegas 11. I have a clip on the timeline with captions on it. I can see the captions and they display in the preview window. However, when I render it out as an HD MXF file and bring it back to project the CC do not appear during playback. The file shows 608CC1 but nothing shows in the preview window that is set to show 608CC1. Any idea what’s wrong? Too bad Vegas can’t export MP4 with embedded CC. Thanks.

You have to extract the caption markers back out to the timeline. There is a script to do this in Tools | Scripting.

It may be a limitation of the MP4 format. In those cases, Vegas will make a CSC file that contains the captions. You can use this to add final captions in whatever delivery system you use.
BTW, the script you need to run on your media is:
Tools | Scripting | Promote Media Closed Captioning

I had someone approach me about doing CC and guaranteeing playback on all mobile devices. Thought maybe an mp4 or flash approach might work.
