    Hey everyone,

Have a problem, searched the forums, no answer, yadda, yadda.

    Here’s the thing.

I’m trying to re-create an iDVD 8 template called Revolution using CC Cylinder (need more control of text, video elements, ect.) and I’m having a fair amount of success with it, but I was wondering if there’s a way, or maybe this is just a limitation of AE, to have the elements that I’m turning into a cylinder, text and precomps, live outside of the bounds of my comp’s resolution (as in be wider than) before I apply CC Cylinder without being cut off.

The way that I’m doing it now, I’m having to shrink my pre-comps down to fit within bounds of the final comp, which may or may not be reducing the precomps’ final resolutions, but it’s also making something that should seem straightforward a bit more complex. I’m having to lock the final comp viewer window, open the precomp I’m adjusting in a new viewer, un-dock the panel, drag it to the side and tweek the text size and precomp size until it looks like it fits.

Anyone have any insight as to the behavior of CC Cylinder?

Would it be easier to just bite the bullet and build this in something like Cinema 4D?

    Thanks for your time.

    -Graham

I’m not sure I understand the problem, but…
Have you tried applying CC Cylinder inside a rather large Precomp?
Do you have an image of the iDVD menu you are mimicking?
