    Hi,

There appears to be a bit of a whopper of a bug in Premiere Pro 7.1 and Speedgrade 7.1 — secondary color correction seems to be broken when using the Direct Link functionality.

When you go via Direct Link to Speedgrade and add a Secondary Color Corrector, the image corrupts completely. If the timeline is saved back into Premiere, the image corruption continues there. The bug also appears to affect Premiere’s ability to draw the Timeline window. I’ve seen it stop redrawing it, making it impossible to even scrub, but removing the Lumitri effect would make the Timeline draw again.

I’ve tested making a new project in Speedgrade, and then Secondary works just fine. So this is exclusively related to the Direct Link with Premiere Pro feature.

    Does anybody else see this?

    Best,

I did not see this issue.
I direct linked a timeline from PP with no fx and did a secondary color correction in SG.
The timelines that had Coloritsa and Filmconvert fx crashed bad.

I’m new to speedgrade and now with direct link I have no more excuse to not learn SG. (resolve is more intuitive to me though)

    Hey,

I have got exactly the same issue. Also, when I duplicate the grade (with the Secondary Color Corrector) to another shot, Speedgrade crashes.
We use an iMac (mid 2010) with an Ati Radeon HD 5750 video card on Mac OS X Lion.

Do you have found a fix or workaround for this issue?

    Cheers,
    Hans

I’m experiencing BOTH of these issues on a 2012 iMac and Speedgrade 7.1 + Premiere 7.1. To be specific: any clip with a Secondary grade looks totally messed up when viewing in Premiere and when inside SpeedGrade copying grades that include masks between clips crashes the app every time. This is forcing me to re-create vignettes manually on every clip. Talk about not “Speed-y”. I will say that when they get the bugs worked out the dynamic linking between PR and SG will be awesome. I don’t know what I’m going to do about the first problem since my project is due today.

    Hi everyone.

I found a solution for the secondary color correction issue. In your Nvidia control panel, inside manage 3D settings, deactivate the CUDA-GPU in both programs (Premiere and Speedgrade). It works for my old Nvidia 9800 GT card.

    Best regards.
