Cast shadow but not show the actual floor?

Recipe for shadow-catching invisible layer:

Use a white solid.
Set mode to Multiply.
Accepts Shadows = on.
Accepts Lights = off.

Yes I have tried that but it doesnt seem to work.

For it to work there has to be something behind the shadow-catching layer. It doesn’t work against just the background color of the comp.

Thanks Dan,
Yes I do understand that. It works fine but as soon as you hit accecpts lights to no the shadow disapears for some reason.
