    I’m trying to get the time lapse transition fades that they have in the movie “Casino”; when the guy gets out of the car and is greasin palms. there’s something i’m missing – i cut some of each clip and do a crossfade. i know there’s something else in there i gotta do, but what it is..

    Can you give us more info on why it doesn’t look right? I’m not sure if I recall that scene, but I think it also used a flash as a transition between clips, rather than just a fade.

    I don’t have the DVD to refer to. If you have a link to what you are referring to I could have a “stab” at a solution?

    In the meantime, have a look at transition envelopes. This function allows us to sustain, hold or even REVERSE a transition effect. It works in a similar way as a velocity envelope.
