“Cartoonification” Effect
Hi,
After messing about with ideas I got from Aharon’s excellent tutorials on cartoonification, I have a question about livetrace.
I noticed that he said that you can only adjust the threshold property in black and white options. What I want is a black and blue result. I have tried to do this with a saved black and blue swatch but you can’t change the threshold which I really need to do with my footage. Is there any way of doing this?
I don’t know much about after effects but I thought that the ‘Change to color’ effect might give me what I need and replace the white to blue there but it didn’t seem to do anything.

Try playing with Effects–Color Correction–Colorama. You can toggle off the default “interpolate colors” to create posterized effects if you like, although I prefer to just add markers close together so I get nice hard colors with anti-aliasing. I do almost all my stylizing with Colorama because it lets you specify the opacity on a per-color basis, or what other effects call “blend with original”.
If I were stranded on a desert island with only two plug-ins,
it’d be Colorama and Fractal Noise.-Greg
