    Hello everybody
I am trying to add a “waking life” look to my project and I found “line art” effect in FCP effects but that is very limited, is there any other effect I can use? download maybe (free!)

    thanks for any suggestions

    Graphic Novel Look. Close…

Waking life was frame by frame painstakingly assembled.

Toonit can be very close if you take the time to learn it and tinker with it, but be ready for some LONG render times. I mean REALLY long, like days.

    Have a wonderful day.

ToonIt is too expensive for what it does. You’ll get a better result from the Graphic Novel Look, and it is cheaper.

    Yes, I have tried both.

This doesn’t involve FCP per se, but another way uses After Effects and Illustrator CS2 and up. It involves creating a sequence of stills, using Live Trace in Illustrator to create the vector images, then rebuilding the sequence in AE (or FCP).

The Cow’s Aharon Rabinowitz has a 2-part video podcast on the process:

    Part 1
    Part 2

The post here goes through a couple of processes, including Aharon’s tutorial. Though it mostly covers the same as talked about above.
