Does the drive you are going to save the clone to (i.e. firewire drive) have to be free of data or does it just need to have enough space to hold the clone?

    Thanks,
    Mike

    Just needs enough space.
Be sure ot read the fine print in the CCC manual for the difference between images and bootables. It’s confusing and could impact the success of your clone.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

yeah, all you technically need is enough space, but i might suggest partitioning the drive in two so you can have a seperate useable volume too.
