  • Caputre HD on a Decklink, edit footage on a Kona LHe?

Posted by Erik Lindahl on March 8, 2006 at 3:41 pm

My question is simple. A post-house uses a 4:4:4 Decklink HD Capture card. We’ll use it to capture 4:2:2 1080i50 HD PAL footage to then be edited on a Kona LHe machine.

Are there any issues with the codecs here?

As stated we’ll be doing 4:2:2 1080i50 HD 10-bit footage.

Sorry for the double posting – I really need an awnser ASAP

    Hi Erik,

If they capture to the Apple Uncompressed codec, it should work.

Yepps, it worked like a charm!

Great thing really, not having to go FILM > HDCAM > 4:2:2 Editing. HDCAM cripples the quality quite a bit.
